Author's Bio

A. Young-Irving is a first-time author, wife, and empty nester of two escapees. Born and raised in South Africa, she has lived in Amsterdam, and now calls Los Angeles home. She dreams of retiring to an 18th-century château in France.
She graduated in South Africa with a BA in English and French, and a minor in Psychology (which proved handy in raising teenagers), followed by a postgraduate degree in French Literature. She speaks five languages and has worked as a journalist, a crisis counselor, and currently volunteers as a museum docent. She is also the freelance art researcher and translator for cases involving the restitution of Nazi-looted art. She has incorporated her experience in Art Education and Art Crime into her debut novel, HEIST OF THE OLYMPIANS.
When she is not writing in her “corner office” at her local coffee shop, she frequents museums, amusing (and in some cases, annoying) visitors with juicy tales from Greek mythology. She is a fan of musical theater, opera, and psychological thrillers, but is cursed with the ability and compulsion to loudly predict plot twists, much to the annoyance of fellow moviegoers. It seems she was destined to author suspense fiction with twists and shock revelations of her own.

Introducing my new publishing imprint, WISDOMWING BOOKS. It is inspired by the Greek goddess Athena's mythical owl, Noctua, which symbolizes knowledge, wisdom, and (of course!) the art of writing. In her claws, my Noctua clutches one of the goddess Artemis' silver arrows, representing strength, courage, and protection. All my future novels will be written under this imprint.
